GEO 3210 - Geomorphology
Course Overview
This course will focus on the origin and development of landforms and landscapes on the Earth’s surface, with a systematic analysis of the geomorphic processes that produce and modify them. An emphasis will be placed on understanding the scale and rate at which geomorphic processes occur, underscoring the linkages that climatic and geologic controls have on landscape evolution.
Student Learning Objectives (SLOs)
- Recognize the classifications schemes of common geomorphic landscapes
- Describe the physical principles of geomorphic processes
- Explain the linkages between landscape form and process: from small scale to large scale
- Summarize the purpose and use of geomorphic models
- Discuss the application of geomorphology to environmental management
